Lately I spend my spare time playing with a cat, fostering dogs, playing video games, and trying to keep up with my NYT Sunday edition print subscription. Also a little bit of houseplant care, and not as much garden/yard care as I would like. I'm starting this blog and related net explorations in an attempt to foster more creative hobbies.
work
I'm clinging to my job as a designer in big tech with many constant worries about job security. I love the day-to-day work but the general mood in my industry and company is grim these days, and I absorb it despite my overall optimistic outlook. Some days it feels like I'm waiting for a change to shift the tides in a slightly more favorable direction.

Fall is upon us!! Get this hot blazing sun weather out of my face. I moved to the PNW for drizzly gray weather, not whatever this summertime nonsense is.

U.S. politics make me feel the same ick as the popup- and subscription-laden modern internet. I just want to get far away from it. For now this means trying to put a little more travel in my life (even U.S. travel, which for me means stepping outside the daily toil and festering disillusionment) and pursuing creative projects.
